The Early Ranks (Novice-Initiate)

Welcome to Mousehunt, one of Facebook's greatest games and created by HitGrab. To help those in need, I made this walkthrough for those lost hunters out there. Anyway let's get started on a few important things. First let's discuss the traps.
  1. Weapons As in real life, you need a trap to catch a mouse. Sometimes, a mouse will be too powerful for your trap, but as you progress, you'll find yourself with more powerful traps.
  2. Bases The base is like a support for your trap, it is where you will place your trap on. Like traps, as you progress, you'll find yourself with more powerful bases.
  3. Bait Same as reality, to attract a mouse, you'll need cheese and that is the purpose of bait. If you run out of bait, mice will not come to your trap.
Now let's get on with the basic stats of a trap and base:-
  1. Power Power is the strength of your trap and base added together. Technically, mice will be caught easier if you have more power.
  2. Power Bonus Power bonus adds extra power to your trap.
  3. Attraction Bonus This bonus increases your chances of attracting mice. Not much to say either.
  4. Luck One of the very important stats. Luck helps increases the chances of catching a mouse that is too powerful for your trap and helps increase loot drops.
  5. Cheese Effect Like in real life, sometimes your bait will fail to attract (FTA). Cheese effect will either increase your chances of your bait going stale when you have a FTA or decreases the chances of having stale cheese. Don't worry about it though, it happens to everyone...
  6. Power type Different mice are weak to traps of different types. However, we'll only talk about this when you reach Master which is still a long way to go.

Gold: the credits in this game, gold allows you to purchase stronger traps and bases, buy bait and other items.

Points: This might seem useless at first, but points do play a role. Points will allow you to purchase stronger traps and bases. They will also rank you at the scoreboards with other hunters around the world.

You might notice a so-called friendly knight who calls himself "Larry". He'll be your hunting companion and advisor. Looks friendly doesn't he?

Before you can start your game, Larry will let you choose between two traps and you'll have to arm it with your wooden base. The Tacky Glue Trap or the High Tension Spring. Which will you choose??

Power: 75, Power Bonus: 5%, Attraction Bonus: 10%, Luck: 2, Cheese Effect: No Effect

Power: 70, Power Bonus: -, Attraction Bonus: 40%, Luck: 2, Cheese Effect: Stale

If you choose the High Tension, you'll be selling away the extra 20% attraction bonus and if you choose the tacky glue trap, you'll be missing out on the High Tension's power. It's up to you which trap you will choose, power or attraction.

On my opinion, arm the Tacky Glue, even with the High Tension's power it isn't much to offer. You'll also be using a low attraction bait which makes the attraction of the Tacky Glue quite handy.
Now that that's settled, were off to your first location the Meadow.

The Meadow

First of all, sell all your Marble Cheese at the Cheese Shoppe and buy Cheddar instead. Yes, Cheddar is weaker than Marble in terms of attraction, but with the Tacky Glue it should be no trouble at all and the cheap price of cheddar will help you maximize your profits.

When you've done your training hunts, you should have at least 1,000 gold. With that gold, go and buy the Wooden Base with Target from the Trapsmith,

Wooden Base with Target
Cost: 1,225 gold
Power: 75, Power Bonus: -, Attraction Bonus: 20%, Luck: -, Cheese Effect: -
With the WBWT's 20% attraction and the Tacky Glue's 40%, weak bait like Cheddar won't suffer much from failure of attractions. Power doesn't matter much here as most of the common mice like the White, Grey, Field are all effortless even with a weak setup.

Mouse Mary O' Nette
Cost: 6,250 gold
Power: 250, Power Bonus: -, Attraction Bonus: 6%, Luck: 5, Cheese Effect: Fresh

500lbs Spiked Crusher
Cost: 3,450 gold
Power: 250, Power Bonus: 10%, Attraction Bonus: -, Luck: 1, Cheese Effect: -

As you can see from above, the Mary O' Nette is obviously the trap for you. Though 6,000 gold might not be easy to earn, but buying this will make your mouse hunting much more easier than the Tacky Glue. It's attraction also helps to balance the Cheddar's low attraction.

With your new trap, start farming about 20,000 gold to buy a new weapon. By then, you could be a Recruit. However, try not to go to the Town of Gnawnia before you buy a stronger weapon. With 20,000 gold, you should be able to afford either the Trebuchet or the Rocketine.

Mouse Trebuchet
Cost: 15, 850 gold
Power: 600, Power Bonus: 2%, Attraction Bonus: 4%, Luck: 1, Cheese Effect: Very Fresh
What the Trebuchet lacks in power it makes up in higher attraction and luck. It is also cheaper compared to the Rocketine.

Mouse Rocketine
Cost: 18,700 gold
Power: 650, Power Bonus: 6%, Attraction Bonus: -, Luck: 0, Cheese Effect: Extremely Stale
With greater power, comes a greater price and a more terrible cheese effect...

With these two traps comparable, the Trebuchet is a better option since the Rocketine costs more. The Rocketine's terrible cheese effect also makes it the worse option among the two.

The Stone Base
Stone Base
Cost: 6,175 gold.
Power: 150, Power Bonus: 10%, Attraction Bonus: -, Luck: 0, Cheese Effect: Fresh
If you're observant, you might also notice the Stone Base, you might think that this will be your next base. Hold it! Before you click the "Buy" button. There are a few things you should know. Ok, the stats are quite reasonable, but at the same time forking over 6,000 gold! Besides, you're gonna buy an Explosive Base later. Skip it! The Wooden Base with Target should do just fine.

With the Trebuchet, feel free to travel to the Town of Gnawnia.

The Town of Gnawnia

In the Town of Gnawnia, many of the mice here are the same as those found in the Meadow.

Now that you're in town, change your bait to Marble cheese. By hunting here, you should have enough profit to use marble cheese. Ignore Swiss and Brie for now.

Now then, just sit down and farm more gold till you reach the rank of Apprentice. If you're finally one, travel to the Windmill.

The Windmill
Now that you're promoted to an apprentice, you can:-
  1. Start collecting stale cheese. Remember those annoying FTAs and stale cheese that you suffered from the Meadow to the Town?? Now you can start collecting them and they'll be quite useful later.
  2. You can also currently send and receive supplies such as gold and Super|Brie+ (SB+).
There are no Cheese Shoppes or Trapsmiths in the Windmill, so it's best to buy a supply of Marble before coming here to cut down on travel costs. Use the Travel Planner to save travel costs.

There are many more new and tougher breeds here in the Windmill, but your Trebuchet should be strong enough. In the meantime, farm more gold and try to catch more mice.

Just keep hunting and soon your progress will start increasing and you'll find yourself at the  rank of Initiate soon. When you're finally one, head down to the Harbour.

THE HARBOUR

In the Harbour, mice will sometimes steal your supplies. This includes robbing your gold, crippling your points and even stealing extra pieces of your bait (We call them Redboxes)!! You too must keep these in mind:-
  1. It's time for you to man-up! Yes, you've managed yourself to get as far as here and it's not the time to chicken out!
  2. Keep yourself well-known that this will happen everywhere starting from the Harbour.
  3. Don't be afraid, the Trebuchet is strong enough to hunt here.
Here, the coloured mice become rarer and stronger mice like steel, granite, etc. are more common here. This should help increase your profits.

Once you have 70,300 gold, head to the Town of Gnawnia and buy the Swiss Army Mouse Trap (SAMT).

Swiss Army Mouse Trap
Cost: 70,300 gold
Power: 1,200, Power Bonus: 2%, Attraction Bonus: 2%, Luck: 10, Cheese Effect: -
Look at that power! An amazing 1,200 power and 10 luck is a guarantee that the Harbour mice will be easy catches.

It's also time for bait- switching again. You might also realize that there is no cheese shoppe in Harbour, which means you'll have to go back to Town to buy bait. This time, were gonna buy Swiss cheese. Swiss might cost more than Marble, but the attraction rate is higher than Marble. Don't worry about the costs, your profits at the Harbour will cover the costs.

The Explosive Base

Explosive Base
Cost: 29,775 gold
Power: 300, Power Bonus: 5%, Attraction Bonus: 5%, Luck: 0, Cheese Effect:Stale
Now that were saving ourselves some gold, it's time to go back to Gnawnia and buy the Explosive Base. This is quite a useful addition to your bases since it has 300 power and one of the most important bases in their game. With this base, your Harbour hunts will be a breeze.

If you're worried about stale cheese, remember what I said, you're gonna need all the stale cheese you can get, so it's actually okay to have stale cheese!

Other Items
Be sure to stop by at the Harbour general store, because you're going to craft a base on Journeyman. That's right, you're going to craft it and you'll need some items from the Harbour's General Store. You're going to buy:-
  1.  213 salt and
  2. 1 Dehydration Base Blueprints.
Yes as the blueprints say, you're gonna craft one of these, but later. The total costs should be around 23,608 gold . Don't worry though, if you don't have enough gold you can buy them later.

The Map piece
Another important thing to get in the Harbour is a map piece called the Whisker Woods Clearing Map Piece. They are only dropped by Granite mice, though not a 100% drop rate. If you got it, it allows you to travel to Calm Clearing in the Whisker Woods region, but you'll have to be a Journeyman first.

That's all for now, just hunt at the Harbour until you're promoted to a Journeyman.

Tuesday 29 November 2011

The Journeyman

So, the Initiate bar has finally reached 99% and now you're a Journeyman. Congratulations! Anyway let's get started on the journeys of a Journeyman...
Basically you have two routes to choose and that's your choice:-
  1. You go to the Mountain and get the Ninja Mouse.
  2. Go to Calm Clearing and catch many more breeds.
For those who still haven't gotten the Calm Clearing Map Piece, the granite mice at Harbour drops them.

For those who plan to go to Calm Clearing for their Journeyman days, please click here.

For those who plans to travel to the Mountain, well let's go!

Oh, before you start off your journeys, make sure you have:-
  1. Bought the Swiss Army Mouse Trap (SAMT).
  2. Bought the Explosive base.
  3. Bought and using Swiss Cheese.
If you still haven't bought the trap and base, buy it now!

Now then, were off to the Mountain.

The Mountain
Here in the Mountain, the mice are like Harbour, with the coloured mice rarely encountered. This means that you're gonna have a good catch rate of granite, steel, etc...

However, your main objective here is to get a Ninja Mouse.

Normally, this mouse rarely visits your trap and it's slightly a little harder than the normal mice there (Took me two days to attract one). So, please be patient till it arrives. Once you managed to get one, it drops a map piece know as the Burroughs Laboratory Map Piece. Yes, this is where you'll be going next. The ninja too gives off plenty of points for Hunters galore.

Crafting the Dehydration Base
The Dwarfs here also drop a special loot, known as Splintered Wood. They are not a very common drop, but you might save a few. These are essential to craft a Dehydration Base. Being a Journeyman. You can now craft three items now, which is how many items the Dehydration Base (Dehy) needs:-
  1. 213 salt.
  2. 1 Dehydration base Blueprints.
  3. 4 Splintered Wood.
The salt and blueprints can be bought at the Harbour's General Store while the splintered wood are dropped by dwarf at the Mountain or the Treant at Calm Clearing.

Dehydration Base
Power: 225, Power Bonus: -, Attraction Bonus: 5%, Luck: 4, Cheese Effect: Insanely Fresh
If you have crafted it, congratulations. Arm it if you wish. It might not be as powerful as the Explosive Base, but it replaces it with an extra 4 luck and has an Insanely Fresh Cheese Effect. It is up to you to arm it or the Explosive.

NVMRC or Deatbot?
Ok, some Hunters have recently noticed the NVMRC or the Mouse Deathbot. However, you'll also see that each costs above a staggering 250,000 gold. By now, some of you Journeyman Hunters would have probably made this much amount. So, the question is, should you buy the NVMRC or the Deathbot.

ANSWER: Buy neither of them

Why?
  1. First of all, why do you need the NVMRC or the Deathbot? The mice at Mountain are already easier to catch with the Swiss Army. The mice at the Laboratory are almost as the same as the mice at the Mountain.
  2. You'll need to save about 140,00 for a new trap and you'll need extra gold on Radioactive Blue Cheese, which costs about 500 gold per piece.
  3. You'll meet more mice of another type of mice known as Shadow mice and you're NVMRC/Deathbot will be ineffective against them
For those who bought it during Apprentice, congratulations. For those who are Journeyman, just save your extra gold for Burroughs. If you feel like you have too much gold and are planning to buy one, we'll need to compare these two. Here are the traps compared by their base stats.

NVMRC Forcefield Trap
Power: 2,350, Power Bonus: 12%, Attraction Bonus: 10%, Luck: 12, Cheese Effect: No Effect
Cost: 256,000 gold

Mouse Deathbot
Power: 2,400, Power Bonus: 15%, Attraction Bonus: 10%, Luck: 2, Cheese Effect: Stale
Cost: 256,400 gold

The Deathbot has a higher power than the NVMRC. The NVMRC however, counters the Deathbot with it's extra 10 luck! This makes the NVMRC the clear winner, and it is slightly cheaper than the Deathbot. I don't recommend buying them if you're about to reach Master. Even though the Deathbot has more power, the NVMRC easily beats it with it's 12 luck.

To those who have problems saving gold up to about 140,000, here are some tips:-
    1. Try selling some Super|Brie+. To those Donors, you can sell your SB+ at the Marketplace. The Marketplace is where people can buy stuff that needs real money like SB+ by using their gold. Technically, this is for those who Donate.
    2. Take part at the Events and Competitions at the Forums. The prizes are quite good and can easily help you save gold at a faster rate.
    3. Try to look out for those funding programs. With some luck, you might find a few people who'll help you save gold faster.
    Charms
In the Mountain, you'll find a new shop called the Charm Shoppe, which sells charms. Charms are items that can be used to give a trap a bonus depending on the type of charm. However, like your bait, charms can also be consumed by mice. As you progress more, you'll find more varieties of charms.

In order to use charms, you must first have a charm conduit to hold it. It is sold at the Mountain's Charm Shoppe for 3,000 gold, by now you should have afforded this quite easily. Then, just arm a charm and you're done.

The Power Charm gives a 120 power and 1% power bonus for the cost of 200 gold. Attraction gives off a 5% attraction bonus for 300 gold while the luck gives a 1 luck for 400 gold.

Another good charm is the Prospector's Charm, which gives a 200 power and 1% power bonus, at the cost of 435 gold. Quite expensive for hunters of Journeyman...

Other than buying charms, you can also craft charms! All you have to do is buy some charmbits for 25 gold and given a certain charm's ingredients, can be crafted. To learn more about crafting charms, you can check the MH Wiki.

As you progress on, sometimes charms will become a need. However, most of the time it's just a nice bonus to your trap.

For those people who are bored at the Mountain, you can go to Whisker Woods to get another Map Piece. The Whisker Woods also houses many more breeds not found in the Gnawnia region.

    Monday 28 November 2011

    The Burroughs

Congratulations! You've finally made it this far and have successfully ranked up to Master! Before we get started, let's do a quick recap:-
    • You've crafted the Dehydration Base ( Dehy). If you still haven't crafted it, craft it now.
    • You've got yourself a Burroughs Laboratory Map Piece
    • You've save yourself about 140,000 gold.
    Now then, to the Lab!

    The Laboratory

Welcome to the lab, where mice get mutated and scamper at will. It might seem like a pretty nice location but this place actually bores me to death! The mice here are mostly steel, granite and bionic with a few mutated mice running around. Oh yeah, don't forget a Monster mouse lurking about in the Laboratory...

    Bait
Since were in lab, it's better to stock up plenty of bait to avoid constant travels. Now were quite far from Meadow, travel costs are quite expensive.
( For those who wants a cheaper route, you can always check the Travel Planner. )

In the lab, there are a few options as bait:-
    1. Swiss does well in the lab and has quite a good rate of attraction and a good profit.
    2. Brie also does well in the lab, but it is recommended that you save them to convert Radioactive Blue potions. Brie is also the bait able to attract the Burglar mouse, which gives quite a good amount of gold.
    Collecting Potions
One of the main objectives here is to collect items known as Radioactive Blue Cheese Potions. These potions are very important and you'll be using them soon. Majority of the mice will drop it. The mice too can drop up to 6 potions per catch, though I doubt it happening. To get faster loot, arm your Swiss Army with the Dehydration base since drop rates increases with higher luck. Don't worry about uncommon drops. Everyone experiences this dry spells before...

    Another Map Piece....
Another mission in the Lab is to get another map piece called Key to the Town of Digby. Unfortunately, this map or key is only dropped by a Dwarf and they're quite rare. Like the ninja you've caught at Mountain, this requires great patience. If you do succeed getting it, feel free to head to the Town of Digby or collect more potions at the Lab.

Meanwhile, try to collect more gold. 200,000 at least...

    The Town of Digby

Welcome to Digby, there's not much to do here. However, you're here for a special mission. You should know it by now that you're only here for another map, but just not any map, you're here for the Tattered Mousoleum Map! You also might find a trapsmith and cheese shoppe here. Just ignore them. If you're out of bait, it's better to go back Gnawnia to buy them than wasting your gold on their Cheese Shoppe.

Getting the Tattered Mousoleum Map Piece
This time, the map is dropped by an undead breed of mice in Digby, the Zombie mouse! This might take some time since it's rare and quite tough a mouse to catch, even for your Swiss Army. In other words, be patient...

If you've finally managed to get hold of a Tattered Mousoleum Map, it's time to get ready for the Mousoleum. Or you can skip it if you want to.

    The Shredded Furoma Map Piece
Yes, the Shredded Furoma Map can also be obtained here in Digby. The Mole mouse should be the one to drop you the map. However, I do not recommend you to choose this method of getting the map piece. It is because the Mole itself is a rare breed in Digby and it's not a 100% guarantee of it dropping the map. So, you'll have to be really, really lucky if you want to use this method, it is not a good idea to chicken out of the Mousoleum..

    Requirements for Mousoleum
    Weapons
As you noticed, the only Trapsmith available in the Burroughs region is at Town of Digby. No, were not forking over our gold to buy any NVMRC or Deathbot or whatsoever. Instead, were here shopping for a trap with a Shadow power type.

In Digby, we are introduced to two shadow traps, the Sinister and Ambrosial Portals. You'll also notice another Shadow trap known as the Bottomless Grave. Skip it! Not many Masters can afford 600,000 gold. That leaves us with the portals. Let's spot the diffrence. Shall we??

    Sinister Portal (Shadow)
    Cost: 140,600 gold
Power: 1,025, Power Bonus: 5%, Attraction Bonus: -, Luck: 0, Cheese Effect: Stale

    Ambrosial Portal (Shadow)
    Cost: 140,000 gold
Power: 1,025, Power Bonus: -, Attraction Bonus: 5%, Luck: 0, Cheese Effect: Fresh

Compared with each other, the Sinister gains more power while the Ambrosial trades it for Attraction. Both portals seem identical. However, the Sinister gains the upper hand with it's 5% power bonus.

Conclusion? Buy the Sinister. Seriously, the Ambrosial is pathetic. You don't really need the 5% attraction of the Ambrosial since Radioactive Blue has a very good attraction rate there. Other than that, you'll also need at least 20 stale Radioactive Blue when you reach Grandmaster and the Ambrosial isn't much help with it's fresh cheese effect. The Sinister might cost a little bit more, but the extra power of the portal will get you through the Mousoleum.

    Bait
Remember those potions that you should be collecting at the lab? If you have forgotten about them, they are called Radioactive Blue Cheese Potions or RB potions. You're gonna convert them into Radioactive Blue Cheese. You should really stock up on those potions, let's say about 30 - 40. One potion allows you to convert 10 Brie cheese, while those who use SB+ to convert will receive 30 cheese per potion.

As you saw them in your inventory, there are a few ways to convert those potions:-
    1. Brie Using brie to convert RB potions is the most sufficient way to get Rb cheese. However, the cheapest Brie costs 200 gold apiece and another 300 gold to convert them, making it 500 gold apiece. Don't worry about the expensive cost though, the mice at Mousoleum will help you earn back what you lost.
    2. Super| Brie+ This might not be such a good option, even though conversion to RB cheese is free. You can always buy them at the Marketplace or Donate. With enabling 30 pieces per potion, it means that you plan to get more bait faster. However, the prices of SB+ at the marketplace is about 5,000 - 6,000 gold, which is very expensive. Mousoleum's breeds might not be able to cover up the costs and you might not make that much profits.
Conclusion? Use Brie. The costs of conversion might be quite expensive, but like I told you, the mice at Mousoleum will cover up those costs quick and fine and you can make much more profits compared to using SB+. Yes, one potion only converts 10 pieces of Brie but you can earn more profits using it. Potions too may be an uncommon drop, the devs have purposely put it that way. In other words, be patient....

Now, with your new trap and bait armed, it's time to arm your Explosive Base! The 4 luck of the Dehydration isn't enough for you to stay put at the Mousoleum. Now, for the moment we've been waiting for! Yes, were finally heading to the Mousoleum!!

    The Mousoleum

In the Mousoleum, you'll encounter tons of new breeds of mice. However, do not underestimate these mice. Even with the Sinister Portal, the mice here are gonna redbox you silly and you might be quite disappointed with the catch rates.

However, you'll also see that the mice here are worth much more than the average mice at Gnawnia. Keep on hunting and your profits will start rising up like crazy. Even with the constant redboxes, you'll be making about quite a profit here.

    The Lycan
Your main objective here is to get one of the toughest mouse in the Mousoleum known as the Lycan. Other than constantly stealing your bait, the Lycan is also quite an uncommon mouse, so you might be sitting down for a while waiting for this guy.

However there is another way of getting a Lycan, a bait known as Moon Cheese
    Recipe:-
    1x Meteorite Piece + 2x Magic Essence + 3x Curds and Whey
    = 1 Moon Cheese

If you're hunting at Digby with Swiss/Brie, you might notice that some of them drop Meteorite Pieces. Magic Essence can be obtained by smashing Super|Brie+ and the Curds and Whey can be bought at Digby's General Store.
However, I recommend you not to use your Super|Brie+ crafting this bait because as I said, Radioactive Blue has a high attraction rate in Mousoleum which means sooner or later the Lycan would come to your trap. So, I wouldn't recommmend the crafting of this bait, as it is kind of a waste of precious Super|Brie. Sooner or later you're gonna catch the Lycan.

For those who have not, just be patient. For those who have, it'll drop a loot known as the Shredded Furoma Map Piece. This is important as it'll be your next destination which is called the Furoma Region.
Once you've caught your Lycan, just continue hunting in the Mousoleum. You'll be needing quite an amount of gold for the next region, about 500,000. In the Mousoleum, that amount shouldn't be a problem. If you've ran out of potions, go farm more in the Laboratory.

    Sunday 27 November 2011

Jungle Trekking in the Whisker Woods

This region is actually an alternative path besides the Mountain to the Burroughs. Although I do recommend you take the Mountain path. Anyway, if you choose to hunt here, we should do a recap:-
    1. You bought the Swiss Army Mouse Trap (SAMT).
    2. You bought the Explosive Base.
    3. You should be using Swiss Cheese now. If you're still using Marble, switch now!
    4. You've got the Calm Clearing Map Piece. If you don't have it, you can't access the Calm Clearing. Granites at Harbour will drop it just to remind you...
Now, were off to the Calm Clearing

    Calm Clearing

So, you've chose to stray away and come here eh? That's pretty brave of you. Anyway, this place boats plenty of  new breeds and they all have slightly higher gold and points. You'll also meet the Foxy and Eagle Owl mice, which both give off a great amount of gold and points. Just don't complain if you don't see them much. Other than that you're here to get yourself another Map Piece.

    Gnarled Tree Map Piece
This could actually be quite tricky as you can see, the map piece is dropped only by the Cyclops Mouse. I called it a tricky problem because this guy is both hard to attract and hard to catch, even for your Swiss Army. So, the option here is to sit down and be patient. If you finally, got one, the rewards are well-paid.

    Dehydration Base
You should also be aware that Treant drop a certain loot called Splintered Wood. These pieces of sticks are needed to craft a new base called the Dehydration Base. If you got at least 4 Splintered Wood, good. Got the items I asked you to buy from the Harbour General Store? Good. Then we'll craft it now!!

    Recipe:-
    • 213x Salt
    • 1x Dehydration Base Blueprints
    • 4x Splintered Wood
Just add them all together and there you go! Your first crafted base! If you're getting tired of all the stale cheese with the Explosive, then arm this base! It's got an Insanely Fresh Cheese Effect and has a slightly powerful 4 luck! It's quite impressive really, whether or not to arm it is your choice.

Okay, you don't really have to get this mouse. It just looks good as a collection. If u wish to catch it, you should read this section. The Cherry is a relatively easy mouse to catch, the only problem is acquiring the bait. Cherry mice are only attracted to Cherry Cheese, which can be obtained from Cherry Potions. This is quite a problem, as only the Cyclops and Eagle Owls drop them as they themselves are a rare sight at Calm Clearing. Another problem is that it can only convert Brie cheese and costs 500 gold a piece. Yikes! Even with that, the Cherry mouse is still an uncommon sighting. If you manage to get it, good for you. If you don't, you can always come back to get revenge!

If you're bored out, you can always hunt at the Mountain's path and get that Ninja till you reach Master! If you are currently one, were off the next location in the Whisker Woods.

    The Great Gnarled Tree

Welcome to the Great Gnarled Tree, the more tougher side of Whisker Woods. Here, the mice will contribute more points and slightly more gold. You'll find more indigenous breeds of Whisker Woods and a few of the same breeds at Calm Clearing. Were here for a few things, but first things first!

    Buying a new trap
In the Great Gnarled Tree, most of the breeds are weaker to tactical, which means we'll need a  new trap. As you noticed that the only trap available is the Venus Mouse Trap. There is one problem, how are you gonna purchase it?? I bet most of you still don't have the 300,000 gold required to buy  this trap and many of you still don't have the required points which is about 490,500. So, how are you gonna save up all that gold and points??

There is only one option, head get the Ninja Mouse from the Mountain and head to the Burroughs. There, you can save all the gold you need in Mousoleum. You'll also be able upgrade your trap into the Mutated Venus Mouse Trap ( MVMT). That way, you'll have yourself a better trap....

P.S. The NVMRC Force field  works well here too, just not as good as MVMT. If you have the NVMRC, use it. If you don't, head to the Burroughs...

Other than that, were here for another map piece...

    The Map of the Lagoon
This Map Piece is actually called " Map of the Lagoon ". It is dropped by the Fairy Mouse. Don't expect to see much of it either and it's also a difficult guy... it's a Tactical type, so use your Venus Mouse Trap or whatever Tactical trap you have.

    Gnarled Potions
You'll also notice that some of the breeds here drops Gnarled Potions. The Gnarled Potions converts Brie into Gnarled Cheese, which will be used in the Lagoon. It's good idea to stock up on Gnarled Potions.

If you're Grandmaster and above, off to the Lagoon!

    The Lagoon

As the description says, you're gonna need a special bait to attract the rare mice that resides in the Lagoon. You're gonna need Gnarled Cheese! So stock up on Brie. This bait is also quite expensive, costing about 600 gold per piece.

On my opinion, you should really get the Ambush trap at Furoma first before coming here. This place is full of tough mice and your measly Mutated Venus Mouse Trap isn't enough to help you survive, and no NVMRCs, they are weaker than the MVMT and will prove less useful...

The Lagoon hosts many breeds that are only weak to different types and very tough to catch. To make this easier, I split them into different categories...

    The Hydra
The Hydra is the main objective of why you're here at the Lagoon. However, instead of getting another boring old map piece, were aiming for a Blueprint drop. The Hydra is a Hydro type mouse. Unfortunately, we don't have a Hydro type trap yet. So, were gonna have to make do with Physical and Tactical traps.

If you've ventured into the Furoma region, you might have obtained the Ambush trap, if not, go there and get it. The Ambush is currently our most powerful Tactical weapon and you'll have to make do with it to get the Hydra.

So far, there is only one weapon that is able to outclass the Ambush in sheer power, and that is the Digby DrillBot. If you've ventured to the Burroughs region, you should've discovered this trap. It might be very expensive, costing about 405,000 gold. Though not many hunters have 400k to buy it.

On my opinion, just use the Ambush. If you're filthy rich and impatient, go get the Drillbot.

Arm the Dehydration or any base with a higher luck. You'll need lots of luck getting those blueprints.

If you've finally got the blueprints, congratulations! You've completed part of your progress to Rodentia!

    Trolls, Goblins and Harpies
These mice are only weak against Shadow type traps, and affected normally by others. Unfortunately, your only shadow weapon is the Sinister Portal. What to do? If you're an experienced legendary hunter, you can arm your ACRoNYM and they'll fall quickly. But like I said, they are affected normally by other types, including Arcane! Don't worry about them though, you might encounter these mice while catching that Hydra...

    The Silth
The silth was once a really unnecessary mouse. However, the devs make sure that you needed at least one if you're a baron!

You might have heard of the Curious Chemist mouse before. However, this mouse can only be attracted if you use Gnarled Cheese at the Great Gnarled tree. the good thing is that this mouse comes frequently and is an easy catch. If you got one, you can see that it drops the Wicked Gnarly Potion, which is used to convert brie into Wicked Gnarly Cheese. However, it is recommended that you come back for the Silth later since you'll be able to convert more cheese, but lesser than Gnarled. Anyway, start stockpiling those potions!

So, you've think you've collected enough potions? Now, let's go to the Lagoon!

Now then, the Silth is even tougher than the Hydra, and it is also a very rare mouse. This causes quite a few problems as many people gets overpowered by the Silth. The only thing effective against it are pure Hydro traps! Anything is just plain Near- Impossible.. just arm your strongest Hydro weapon and base and wish for a successful catch....

If you got it, congratulations. The Silth is worth a decent amount of gold and points. It also ocassionally drops some interesting loots.
