Welcome to Mousehunt, one of Facebook's greatest games and created by HitGrab. To help those in need, I made this walkthrough for those lost hunters out there. Anyway let's get started on a few important things. First let's discuss the traps.
- Weapons As in real life, you need a trap to catch a mouse. Sometimes, a mouse will be too powerful for your trap, but as you progress, you'll find yourself with more powerful traps.
- Bases The base is like a support for your trap, it is where you will place your trap on. Like traps, as you progress, you'll find yourself with more powerful bases.
- Bait Same as reality, to attract a mouse, you'll need cheese and that is the purpose of bait. If you run out of bait, mice will not come to your trap.
- Power Power is the strength of your trap and base added together. Technically, mice will be caught easier if you have more power.
- Power Bonus Power bonus adds extra power to your trap.
- Attraction Bonus This bonus increases your chances of attracting mice. Not much to say either.
- Luck One of the very important stats. Luck helps increases the chances of catching a mouse that is too powerful for your trap and helps increase loot drops.
- Cheese Effect Like in real life, sometimes your bait will fail to attract (FTA). Cheese effect will either increase your chances of your bait going stale when you have a FTA or decreases the chances of having stale cheese. Don't worry about it though, it happens to everyone...
- Power type Different mice are weak to traps of different types. However, we'll only talk about this when you reach Master which is still a long way to go.
Gold: the credits in this game, gold allows you to purchase stronger traps and bases, buy bait and other items.
Points: This might seem useless at first, but points do play a role. Points will allow you to purchase stronger traps and bases. They will also rank you at the scoreboards with other hunters around the world.
Power: 70, Power Bonus: -, Attraction Bonus: 40%, Luck: 2, Cheese Effect: Stale
If you choose the High Tension, you'll be selling away the extra 20% attraction bonus and if you choose the tacky glue trap, you'll be missing out on the High Tension's power. It's up to you which trap you will choose, power or attraction.
The Meadow
First of all, sell all your Marble Cheese at the Cheese Shoppe and buy Cheddar instead. Yes, Cheddar is weaker than Marble in terms of attraction, but with the Tacky Glue it should be no trouble at all and the cheap price of cheddar will help you maximize your profits.
When you've done your training hunts, you should have at least 1,000 gold. With that gold, go and buy the Wooden Base with Target from the Trapsmith,
Wooden Base with Target
Cost: 1,225 gold
Power: 75, Power Bonus: -, Attraction Bonus: 20%, Luck: -, Cheese Effect: -
With the WBWT's 20% attraction and the Tacky Glue's 40%, weak bait like Cheddar won't suffer much from failure of attractions. Power doesn't matter much here as most of the common mice like the White, Grey, Field are all effortless even with a weak setup.
Mouse Mary O' Nette
Cost: 6,250 gold
Power: 250, Power Bonus: -, Attraction Bonus: 6%, Luck: 5, Cheese Effect: Fresh
500lbs Spiked Crusher
Cost: 3,450 gold
Power: 250, Power Bonus: 10%, Attraction Bonus: -, Luck: 1, Cheese Effect: -
As you can see from above, the Mary O' Nette is obviously the trap for you. Though 6,000 gold might not be easy to earn, but buying this will make your mouse hunting much more easier than the Tacky Glue. It's attraction also helps to balance the Cheddar's low attraction.
With your new trap, start farming about 20,000 gold to buy a new weapon. By then, you could be a Recruit. However, try not to go to the Town of Gnawnia before you buy a stronger weapon. With 20,000 gold, you should be able to afford either the Trebuchet or the Rocketine.
You might notice a so-called friendly knight who calls himself "Larry". He'll be your hunting companion and advisor. Looks friendly doesn't he?
Before you can start your game, Larry will let you choose between two traps and you'll have to arm it with your wooden base. The Tacky Glue Trap or the High Tension Spring. Which will you choose??

On my opinion, arm the Tacky Glue, even with the High Tension's power it isn't much to offer. You'll also be using a low attraction bait which makes the attraction of the Tacky Glue quite handy.
Now that that's settled, were off to your first location the Meadow.

Mouse Trebuchet
Cost: 15, 850 gold
Power: 600, Power Bonus: 2%, Attraction Bonus: 4%, Luck: 1, Cheese Effect: Very Fresh
What the Trebuchet lacks in power it makes up in higher attraction and luck. It is also cheaper compared to the Rocketine.
Mouse Rocketine
Cost: 18,700 gold
Power: 650, Power Bonus: 6%, Attraction Bonus: -, Luck: 0, Cheese Effect: Extremely Stale
With greater power, comes a greater price and a more terrible cheese effect...
With these two traps comparable, the Trebuchet is a better option since the Rocketine costs more. The Rocketine's terrible cheese effect also makes it the worse option among the two.
The Stone Base
Now that you're in town, change your bait to Marble cheese. By hunting here, you should have enough profit to use marble cheese. Ignore Swiss and Brie for now.
Now then, just sit down and farm more gold till you reach the rank of Apprentice. If you're finally one, travel to the Windmill.
There are many more new and tougher breeds here in the Windmill, but your Trebuchet should be strong enough. In the meantime, farm more gold and try to catch more mice.
Explosive Base
If you're worried about stale cheese, remember what I said, you're gonna need all the stale cheese you can get, so it's actually okay to have stale cheese!
Cost: 15, 850 gold
Power: 600, Power Bonus: 2%, Attraction Bonus: 4%, Luck: 1, Cheese Effect: Very Fresh

Stone Base
Cost: 6,175 gold.
Power: 150, Power Bonus: 10%, Attraction Bonus: -, Luck: 0, Cheese Effect: Fresh
If you're observant, you might also notice the Stone Base, you might think that this will be your next base. Hold it! Before you click the "Buy" button. There are a few things you should know. Ok, the stats are quite reasonable, but at the same time forking over 6,000 gold! Besides, you're gonna buy an Explosive Base later. Skip it! The Wooden Base with Target should do just fine.

With the Trebuchet, feel free to travel to the Town of Gnawnia.
The Town of Gnawnia
In the Town of Gnawnia, many of the mice here are the same as those found in the Meadow.

- Start collecting stale cheese. Remember those annoying FTAs and stale cheese that you suffered from the Meadow to the Town?? Now you can start collecting them and they'll be quite useful later.
- You can also currently send and receive supplies such as gold and Super|Brie+ (SB+).
There are many more new and tougher breeds here in the Windmill, but your Trebuchet should be strong enough. In the meantime, farm more gold and try to catch more mice.
Just keep hunting and soon your progress will start increasing and you'll find yourself at the rank of Initiate soon. When you're finally one, head down to the Harbour.
THE HARBOUR
In the Harbour, mice will sometimes steal your supplies. This includes robbing your gold, crippling your points and even stealing extra pieces of your bait (We call them Redboxes)!! You too must keep these in mind:-

- It's time for you to man-up! Yes, you've managed yourself to get as far as here and it's not the time to chicken out!
- Keep yourself well-known that this will happen everywhere starting from the Harbour.
- Don't be afraid, the Trebuchet is strong enough to hunt here.
Here, the coloured mice become rarer and stronger mice like steel, granite, etc. are more common here. This should help increase your profits.
The Explosive Base
Once you have 70,300 gold, head to the Town of Gnawnia and buy the Swiss Army Mouse Trap (SAMT).
Swiss Army Mouse Trap
Cost: 70,300 gold
Power: 1,200, Power Bonus: 2%, Attraction Bonus: 2%, Luck: 10, Cheese Effect: -
Look at that power! An amazing 1,200 power and 10 luck is a guarantee that the Harbour mice will be easy catches.
It's also time for bait- switching again. You might also realize that there is no cheese shoppe in Harbour, which means you'll have to go back to Town to buy bait. This time, were gonna buy Swiss cheese. Swiss might cost more than Marble, but the attraction rate is higher than Marble. Don't worry about the costs, your profits at the Harbour will cover the costs.

Another important thing to get in the Harbour is a map piece called the Whisker Woods Clearing Map Piece. They are only dropped by Granite mice, though not a 100% drop rate. If you got it, it allows you to travel to Calm Clearing in the Whisker Woods region, but you'll have to be a Journeyman first.
That's all for now, just hunt at the Harbour until you're promoted to a Journeyman.
